Ferromagnetic ordering in non-ferromagnetic 2DMs

WP4 aims to generate ferromagnetic ordering in layered materials which are naturally not ferromagnetic. Theoretical and experimental efforts will be combined to (i) predict which 2DMs can more likely be driven into a ferromagnetic state by doping or magnetic exchange, (ii) demonstrate whether ferromagnetic ordering develops in the predicted materials thanks to molecular functionalization.

The goals are:

  • Identification of target materials for inducing ferromagnetism.
  • Ferromagnetism in non-magnetic layered materials via molecular treatment.
